While the iPhone is the most popular smartphone in Switzerland, at local.ch we aim to deliver the best possible experience on all of our apps. For example, for our Blackberry users, we just released version 8.3 of our application, available for download from the Blackberry App World.

While this is a minor release, with a focus on improving stability, we made a small but significant change to how you work with the search field in the app, by applying the principle of least astonishment.

When you click on the search field, the current contents of the field are automatically selected, making it easier to change your search term without struggling with the cursor. This behavior mirrors that of the Blackberry mobile browser, when you type website’s link into the address bar.

As always we’ve made sure to test on all major versions of the Blackberry OS, from 4.5 to 6, so if you have an older phone, the local.ch app should still work for you.
